This suite pays tribute to George Washington’s roots on the Île de Ré, through his ancestor Nicolas Martiau, a native of the island and one of the early builders of the young American nation.

Conceived as a subtle homage to the founder of the United States, the suite blends classic elegance with a strong sense of character. Rubelli fabrics, patinated bronze details, leather accents and wallpaper inspired by Mount Vernon create an atmosphere that is both noble and warmly inviting. This suite pays tribute to Madame de Sévigné, a major epistolary figure of the 17th century, a woman of wit and sensitivity whose letters have endured through the centuries for their elegance, subtlety and keen insight into the world. Her family destiny is tragically linked to the Île de Ré, as her father, the Baron de Chantal, lost his life during the siege of the island in 1627 and was later laid to rest in Saint-Martin-de-Ré. An intimate and romantic story, deeply woven into the memory of this place.

Bathed in natural light, the suite opens onto a poetic view over the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, inviting quiet contemplation. Its romantic and elegant atmosphere makes it an ideal retreat for a stay for two. Oak parquet flooring, moulded ceilings and damask fabrics create a refined setting imbued with both softness and character. Deluxe Suite – Maréchal de Toiras

This suite pays tribute to Marshal de Toiras, Governor of the Île de Ré and heroic figure of the 1627 siege, during which he successfully repelled the English troops led by the Duke of Buckingham.

Bathed in natural light, it opens onto a spectacular panoramic view over the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré. Period furniture blends with royal shades of blue and yellow to create a majestic and refined atmosphere, an invitation to stay in a setting rich in history and character.

Deluxe Suite – Pierre Loti

This suite honours Pierre Loti, 19th-century writer and naval officer, renowned for his poetic and exotic narratives. Inspired by his journeys to the far reaches of the Orient and Oceania, it evokes the intimate world of a great traveller with a sensitive soul.

The atmosphere is warm and enveloping, with exposed beams and cashmere fabrics in deep tones. A black marble fireplace and carefully selected exotic objects enhance this sense of elsewhere. The bathroom, adorned with red, yellow and black marbles, extends this precious and evocative ambiance. From the suite, the open view over the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré offers a luminous breath, a true invitation to travel.

Deluxe Suite - Aziyadé

This suite draws its inspiration from Aziyadé, Pierre Loti’s novel recounting a passionate love story between a European naval officer and a young woman from a Turkish harem.

Both intense and enveloping, the atmosphere is shaped by deep red floral wallpaper, enhanced by Lelièvre and Canovas fabrics in warm hues. Decorative details evoke exoticism, softened by gently filtered, subdued light through the windows. From the suite, the panoramic view over the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré invites reverie, where the charm of the Orient meets Atlantic softness.

Suite Junior - Vauban

This junior suite pays tribute to Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, the visionary military engineer behind the iconic fortifications of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It offers an atmosphere that is both refined and soothing. Classic Toile de Jouy fabrics dress the textiles, while reproductions of Vauban’s architectural plans adorn the walls, immersing guests in the world of 17th-century engineering. The bathroom, located on the mezzanine, features an original and spacious layout with a bathtub and a separate shower, offering a truly distinctive wellness experience.
